The Australian shepherd is considered as the most common yet in demand for it is a breed of herding dog. It was rootling developed in the western United States. As its name indicates, it is not the origin of Australian.

They work as stock dogs and compete in the herding stocks; in spite of these they are granted on the popular recognition because they are highly trained and obedient. They are also called “little blue dog”; weight 50-65 pounds for male and 40-55 pounds for female. Their general appearance very according to the emphasis on the particular’s line-working and show dogs.

The later have shorter coast and exhibit light, medium or heavy bone structures. They color varies according to their habitual where they live. Their sizes differ in range of 18-21 inches for female and 21-23 inches for male.

In fact, this breed is quite energetic and renders their best service, to the masters. They are quite efficient in learning and practicing tricks or while doing heir other general jobs. They have a strong tendency to chase or nip at strangers and they get familiar with the habitat easily.

The Australian Shepherd has a versatile stock with a wide range of working styles. It is quick, witted, thoughtful and reliable for the rendered purpose. Also, they are quite destructive in nature and are known for digging holes, chewing anything etc., when they become restless in nature.

They are easily attacked by rare health problems like vision difficulty, pancreas tic problems and hips problems. They are also endangered to thyroid problems.
